I didn’t begin this piece with a fixed design. I was drawn to a deep eucalyptus green that felt calm but alive, like a quiet forest after rain. As I spread the base, it didn’t feel like a background, it felt like a space waiting to be filled. The first strokes came out softer than expected, forming petal-like shapes that kept opening layer by layer. I thought about controlling it, making it more structured, but something told me to let it flow.

As the warm tones started blending in, rust, yellow, and soft coral, it felt like light slowly finding its way through the green. That’s when the piece shifted for me. It no longer felt like I was creating a design, but revealing something that already existed. By the time I reached the outer edges, everything felt balanced and complete, not perfect, but settled in its own quiet way.
