Stillwater Bloom began as a study in controlled movement. I wanted to explore how fluid brushstrokes could feel dynamic without disrupting symmetry. I restricted the palette intentionally to turquoise and mint tones to test tonal variation within a narrow color family, allowing depth to come from layering rather than contrast.
The copper detailing was introduced to create thermal tension against the cool spectrum — a subtle interruption that prevents the piece from becoming visually flat. As the outer forms expanded, the composition naturally started to resemble ripples radiating from a central pulse, and the title emerged from that structural rhythm rather than from an emotion.
