  While traveling in Costa Rica, I was struck by the bright flowers growing along the shoreline. Against the deep blues of the ocean and the darker tones of wet sand and rocks, the flowers felt even more vivid—pinks, corals, and warm tones layered against cool greens and blues.

• This mandala grew from that memory. The repeating forms echo blooming petals, while the shifting colors reflect the contrast between tropical flowers and the calm coastal surroundings.

  This piece carries the feeling of that shoreline—colourful, lively, and peaceful all at once.
