  I decided to create Indigo Empress during a season where I felt pulled between structure and expansion. I chose a deep indigo base because I wanted something grounded and powerful, almost like a calm night sky. From there, I slowly layered blush, lavender, and teal to represent growth unfolding gently but confidently. The gold details came last — they weren’t planned at first — but as I added them, the piece started to feel regal and complete. That’s when I realized this mandala wasn’t just a design; it felt like quiet authority taking shape, and “Indigo Empress” became the only name that made sense.
